Fact and Opinion Bundle!

End of the Year Memory Book

The school year is coming to an end. Although I will miss my lovely class, I can't say that I'm not itching to say goodbye for the summer! At the end of the school year I usually look online for some kind of "end of the year" worksheet. I wanted to incorporate all aspects of the school year; subjects, friends, teacher, summer plans, etc. I would love to laminate these for a keepsake for the kids. What sort of fun end of the year things do you do in your classroom?

St. Patrick's Day Freebie

Hey everyone! Hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday! Over here in Maryland, we are on our second snow day this week. I'm bummed that we'll be losing some days of spring break, but happy that I've had time to work on my grad paper and my TpT products! Today I created a new St. Patrick's Day writing pack, which includes two graphic organizers to help your students develop a "Leprechaun Story." In addition to the graphic organizers, I've included a publishing paper and cover page in both black/white and color so your students may color themselves or use the colored copies.

Sentences and Fragments

Happy Hump Day everyone! I hope you all are having a great week so far! I have a new product to share with you, which focuses on developing sentences. Many of my students have trouble developing sentences, as they are writing fragments. What a perfect way to get rid of this habit...a few printables and a center that focuses on sentences and fragments! These activities could be used from 1st  grade to 4th grade, depending on the needs of your students. I teach 3rd grade and I created this for my class, although it can be differentiated. President's Day FREEBIE and GAME

Here in Southern Maryland we had a snow day! This meant that I could spend a few hours creating some new products. Since President's Day is coming up, I figured I could focus on that. Check it out!

Who's That President? You can find this for $4.00 at my Teachers Pay Teachers store. Click here to grab this fun game! In this game, students read a fact about a president and have to match it to one of the six presidents. Ideally, there should be some background knowledge, but this can also be a learning tool that you can use with groups!  

Here is your President's Day FREEBIE! :) After teaching about President's Day, have your students write what they would do if they were president. This would be an amazing writing sample to hang in the hallway or laminate to send home in a portfolio. There is an intermediate prompt and a primary prompt. Click here to grab this one :)

Black History Month Part I

Black History Month is approaching quickly. I'm running around thinking, what am I going to do? I have a few good books that I'd like to read (Ruby Bridges and Henry's Freedom Box). What should I do with them? Then I had an idea...we've been cramming the Common Core into our heads and yelling "TEXT EVIDENCE!" So, I decided to create some graphic organizers that focus on character traits so my students CAN determine character traits and use text evidence to support them. A graphic organizer isn't enough, so I added an extended response prompt. The reason I chose character traits for Black History Month is because I want my kids to really get to know these people and understand why they have the character traits that they have. If the didn't go through struggles and perservere through difficult times, would they be the same person?

24 Hour Graphic Organizer Freebie

Happy Tuesday everyone! I am beyond excited that it is Tuesday because it is now THANKSGIVING BREAK! I know we are all in much need of this break. What fun things did you do in your classroom today? We had our fall festival, which turned out to be about 100 pounds of potato chips! Since I am so excited about the break, I decided to make my graphic organizer bundle a 24 hour freebie! To make guided reading even more fun with these graphic organizers, I made it "detective" themed. My students LOVE being detectives. It really motivates them to try and find answers in the text. I added some "detective gear" to my guided reading materials. Hello, Dollar Tree! Just add some funny glasses and call yourself a detective. Works like a charm for my third graders!

I can't take pictures of my kids' faces, so enjoy this!

 You'd be surprised how serious they take themselves in these glasses. It's almost hard for me to keep a straight face :)
